Cumann Naomh Peregrine is a Gaelic Athletic Association club in Clonsilla, Fingal, Ireland. It was founded on the 28th of June 1978 when a group of local people got together with Fr. Joe Madden of the Servite Order. The meeting was held in a room in what was a temporary church in Blakestown. The meeting was attended by 6 people. At the end of the meeting it was decided to form a GAA Club of their own. Club colours are black and white.
The funding required to set the club up came through sponsorship from local business people, raffles and four club members loaned £40 each, this covered the initial registration and other costs. The clubs playing and training facilities back then were mainly in Coolmine Park (now home to the Shopping Centre) with Hartstown park becoming another playing pitch some years later, the search for a permanent home for the club was well and truly on at this stage.
In 1992 a location on the Blakestown Road was identified and the hard work of some dedicated club members made the first stage of the development a reality. A clubhouse, playing pitch and all-weather pitch was officially opened by the then GAA president Seosamh Mac Donnacha on 25th April 1998. The next phase was to develop the 2,700sqm hall with a 500-seater covered stand, this was completed and opened in 2005.
In 2008 a hurling wall was built and in 2010 the sand based all weather was expanded and upgraded to astro turf surface with the creation of a juvenile pitch at the far end of our main pitch.
The Club caters for a range of age groups from 4 years upwards in the parishes of Hartstown, Huntstown, Porterstown, Blakestown and Mountview.
St.Peregrines boast one of the finest clubhouses in the country in addition to a 500 seater spectator stand, a gym, astro turf and sports hall. Local rivals include St. Brigids and Castleknock.
The men’s Junior A footballers are firmly established in AFL4 and previously won the IFC in 2006. The men’s Junior B team compete in Division 8. The senior men’s hurlers compete in AHL4 with the second team competing in AHL8.
The ladies Junior A footballers compete in Division 4 whilst the second team compete in Division 9.
The Ladies Camogie Team competes in the Inter 1 League while the second team competes in the Junior 4 League.
The Club is humorously referred to as " The Penguins" because of their strip.
